This session will help prepare participants to share information about the state approved evaluation plan with staff.  The session will review the plan components and will help evaluators describe the teacher performance expected at each rating level.

CCRS English Language Arts (ELA) 202 Lesson Development Workshop-EASTCONN

Prerequisite:  Teachers must complete the CCRS ELA 101 and 102 workshops before attending this session.

This workshop provides for our students high-quality resources and instruction aides to help the development of skills needed to be successful in the workplace or further education. During this session, we will build our capacity to create lessons aligned to the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) and to identify and use good resources wisely. After reviewing some lessons, we will work in teams to create lessons aligned to the CCRS.

Please bring your copy of the standards, a text you might like to use to create a lesson (resources will be provided as well) and a laptop with Wi-Fi capability. Resources from the 100 level sessions might be helpful but not required.

GED ® Math- Understanding Risk-Using Probability to Predict Likelihood-Meriden Public Library

In this session you will become a student who has some background with benchmark fractions, decimals, and percent who is being introduced to probability for decision-making in a health literacy context.  The conceptual goal for you is to understand that probability involves randomness in the short term and predictability over the long run.  As teachers, you will receive a written lesson plan (CCRS Level D, GED Math Q.8.b and GED Science SP.8.c, CASAS M5.3) and a clean copy of the materials

The CASAS Implementation Basics training explains the foundational framework of the CASAS System and CASAS Competencies, as well as introduces additional tools and resources recommended to select, administer and score both paper/pencil and eTest versions of CASAS tests, interpret test results, and identify curriculum support materials to enhance instruction.  A Certificate of Completion will be generated following the completion of this 2-night course.

This workshop is appropriate for new CCS Program Facilitators, Adult Education Directors or teachers who want a great knowledge.
